You will notice on any split system that it has 2 components, the indoor unit and the out door unit which is connected with copper pipes, when the indoor unit is blowing warm air the outdoor unit will be blowing cold air and vice versa when the indoor unit is blowing cold air the outdoor unit will be blowing warm air.
While on cooling mode the refrigerant inside the copper pipes is compressed into a liquid , this generates heat from friction when all the molecules are compressed, it then passes through a big radiator (the outdoor unit) which has a fan blowing across it to remove as much energy (heat) as it can, it then travels through the copper pipe to the indoor unit and goes through an expansion valve which transforms the refrigerant back into a gas, this uses energy in the form of heat to turn into a gas which then passes through another radiator with a fan (the indoor unit) and hey presto you have cooled air, the same principle applies to your gas bottle.
When the LPG inside the bottle comes out it turns from a liquid to a gas it takes all the energy out the air in the form of heat to do so.
